Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, DOIs or URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Note on review processes

Eludamos publishes original research only. Prior to possible publication, each submitted manuscript is assessed by at least two independent experts in a thorough double-blind peer review process.

Manuscript submission

We accept original articles of up to 8.000 words (excluding references, including notes & tables). Reviews and invited commentaries should not exceed 3.000 words.

Before submitting your manuscript for consideration at Eludamos, please make sure you have completed the following steps:

  • Confirm that your manuscript has not been published and is not under consideration for publication with any other publisher.
  • Confirm that your manuscript has been fully anonymized.
  • Confirm that your manuscript follows the Eludamos style guide. Manuscripts that are not correctly formatted will be returned to the authors.
  • Confirm that your manuscript has been proof-read carefully.
  • Confirm that you have acquired the necessary rights and permissions to publish all copyrighted material included in your manuscript.
  • Confirm that you followed all applicable ethical rules and guidelines when acquiring and processing your research data.
  • Name any funding sources that have contributed to your research.
  • State potential conflicts of interest.

When submitting your manuscript, please create

  1. a title page with author info (incl. names, titles, affiliations, and full contact details), manuscript title, abstract and up to 8 keywords, and
  2. a fully anonymized main document containing the complete article.

Please submit your document as an MS Word document, RTF, or ODT. The manuscript should use a 12-point font (Arial, Times New Roman or another standard font), employ italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); uses endnotes rather than footnotes; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Eludamos aims at a speedy and reliable review process. Since we only publish one issue per year, we enable quick access to accepted and finalized manuscripts in the journal’s online-first section.

Manuscripts published with Eludamos are open access in accordance with Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. 

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
